Man Released from Jail Rearrested for Alleged Sexual Assault After Rekindling Plea

A mere eight days after being released from jail for a simple battery charge, a man found himself back in custody, accused of sexually assaulting a woman who had turned down his plea to "rekindle their relationship." This disturbing incident was reported by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Jacson Mendoza, 39 years old, was arrested and charged with false imprisonment, sexual battery, and violation of pre-trial release. On the fateful Wednesday, Mendoza allegedly sexually assaulted the victim after reaching out to her in hopes of reigniting their relationship, following his release from jail on October 17, as detailed in the arrest affidavit.

The nature of Mendoza's relationship with the victim was not specified, and neither was the victim's age, although she was noted to be over the age of 12, according to arrest records.

Although the woman declined to restart their relationship, she expressed a desire to maintain a cordial relationship and support his forward progress, often visiting his house daily after his release to provide him with food and help since he had "no family or any support system," according to the report. Mendoza had unrestricted access to her home.

During Mendoza's visit to the woman's home on Wednesday, he forcibly grabbed her and pinned her against the wall. Despite her pleas for him to stop, he sexually assaulted her and ejaculated within a matter of seconds, as outlined in the arrest affidavit.

When the woman attempted to leave, Mendoza held onto her, and she had to physically push him away while demanding that he leave her alone before making her exit.

The woman headed to work, with Mendoza following her on his bike. After repeated pleas for him to stay away, she ultimately sought refuge at a Lake County Sheriff's Office district office, accompanied by her mother, where she reported the incident.

Deputies inquired if there had been any intimate encounters between the woman and Mendoza since his release, to which she confirmed consensual sex on the day of his release. However, she immediately regretted the incident and informed Mendoza that it would not happen again, attributing it to her having been abstinent for nearly two months, according to the report.

The woman stressed that there had never been a similar incident during their relationship prior to the distressing events of that Wednesday.

Deputies located Mendoza at his residence and took him into custody. He is currently held at the Lake County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
