A 33-year-old woman from Ohio is facing serious accusations from the Ohio Attorney General's office. She's been accused of engaging with men for sexual encounters and then allegedly using drugs to rob them, leading to some tragic consequences.
In a recent press release, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost unveiled that Rebecca Auborn, a Columbus resident, has been indicted on four counts of murder. Yost asserts that Auborn met these men for sexual encounters, where she purportedly drugged them to facilitate theft.
In his statement, Yost warned, "Engaging in illegal activities in Ohio not only ruins lives but can also have dire consequences for those involved."
Auborn is currently facing multiple serious charges, including four murder charges, four counts of involuntary manslaughter, five counts of aggravated robbery, five counts of felonious assault, five counts of corrupting others with drugs, one count of tampering with evidence, and four counts of drug trafficking.
Authorities have managed to link Auborn to four incidents of overdoses and robberies that took place between January and June. Additionally, one individual survived an attempted overdose allegedly associated with Auborn in December 2022, as reported by the Attorney General's Office.
However, no further details about the specific drugs used or the methods of drugging have been provided by the Attorney General.
Auborn is currently in custody at the Franklin County jail, and it remains unclear whether she has entered any pleas or retained legal representation.
Law enforcement continues its investigation and suspects that there may be more potential victims. Their focus is on Auborn's activities allegedly taking place between December 2022 and August 2023, primarily within the vicinity of I-71, State Route 161, Cleveland Avenue, and E. 17th Avenue.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding overdose-related deaths during these periods and within these locations to contact the Columbus Division of Police homicide tip line at 614-645-2228.
