Witnesses Spot Shannon Owens Moving Body in Alleged Murder Case, Leading to His Arrest in Florida



A man from Florida found himself facing serious charges of murder as witnesses claimed to have observed him attempting to move the body of the victim, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Identified as Shannon Owens, aged 31, the accused was apprehended by helpful witnesses on Saturday night, subsequently leading to a second-degree murder charge being filed against him, as stated by law enforcement officials.

The incident unfolded in Lakeland after 11 p.m., following reports of a shooting. The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed to the public, allegedly encountered Owens at the location, with a gunshot subsequently ringing out, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Witnesses on the scene purportedly witnessed Owens trying to relocate the victim's body, which bore an upper-body gunshot wound.

Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the deputies and detectives involved in uncovering the events leading up to the incident, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring accountability for the crime.

Owens presently remains in the custody of Falkenburg Road Jail, with jail records indicating that he is being held without bond. 

No details about legal representation have been made available at this time. In addition to the murder charge, Owens also faces allegations of being a felon in possession of a firearm, along with multiple outstanding warrants.
