Nashville College Freshman, Jillian Ludwig, Shot in Head While Walking on Track; Suspect, Shaquille Taylor, in Custody
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a college freshman, Jillian Ludwig, 18, studying at Belmont University, sustained critical injuries after being shot in the head while walking on a track on Tuesday afternoon.
The police reported that the bullet came from a public housing complex across the street from the park where Ludwig was walking.
The authorities claimed that Shaquille Taylor, who was allegedly firing at a car, inadvertently struck Ludwig in the head with one of the bullets.
Jail records indicate that Taylor was apprehended and charged with aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, with his bond set at $280,000.

It remains unclear whether Taylor has entered a plea or acquired legal representation at this time.
A post by the police on X stated that Ludwig, originally from New Jersey, is in an "extremely critical condition."
Belmont University President Greg Jones commented on Ludwig's situation, as reported by ABC News, highlighting her active involvement in the community, particularly her passion for music as a music business major and bass player, as well as her love for outdoor activities such as running.
