Nurse Charged with Dozens of Additional Crimes as 19 More Patients Allegedly Poisoned with Excessive Insulin are Identified by Prosecutors

A nurse from Pennsylvania previously facing serious felony charges for allegedly causing harm to patients under her care was recently hit with a fresh round of criminal accusations, with authorities claiming she intentionally administered excessive doses of insulin to multiple patients.

Heather Pressdee, aged 41, has been accused of administering large quantities of insulin to 22 patients, resulting in the deaths of 17 of them, despite some not needing the medication at all.

These incidents allegedly occurred while Pressdee was employed at various healthcare facilities in the state, with authorities suggesting that the acts were carried out during overnight shifts when staffing levels were low.

The state attorney general, Michelle Henry, expressed deep concern over the allegations, emphasizing the trust patients place in healthcare providers and the need to ensure their safety.

Investigations revealed that Pressdee had a history of disciplinary issues dating back to 2018, and the recent charges against her include two counts of first-degree murder, 17 counts of attempted murder, and 19 counts of neglect of a care-dependent person.
