Sexual Assault Allegations Surface Against New York Mayor Eric Adams Stemming from 1993.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing accusations of sexual assault following a legal action filed on the night of November 22 in a New York court, according to recent revelations.

The plaintiff, an unnamed woman, submitted a summons in the state Supreme Court in Manhattan on Wednesday night under the Adult Survivors Act, citing Mayor Adams as a defendant. The legal filing also includes the Transit Bureau of the New York Police Department and the Guardian Association of the NYPD as defendants.

The summons alleges that the plaintiff was sexually assaulted by Mayor Eric Adams in New York City in 1993 when they were both employed by the City of New York. The filing, which initiates the legal action, is concise, spanning only three pages and does not provide specific details about the alleged assault.

Notably, the Adult Survivors Act, which became effective in November 2022, created a one-year window for survivors of sexual abuse to file lawsuits in state and federal courts, even for claims previously barred by the statute of limitations—a window set to expire on Friday.

This legal development follows FBI agents discreetly seizing Mayor Adams' phones and an iPad earlier this month as part of an investigation into political fundraising during his 2021 campaign. The seizures occurred while Adams was departing a public event in Manhattan, as confirmed by his attorney, Boyd Johnson. In response, Mayor Adams, a first-term Democrat, stated his cooperation with what he termed an "FBI review."
