Devastating Shooting in Las Vegas: Four Lives Lost, Including Two Children

Tragedy struck in Las Vegas as four individuals, including two kids, lost their lives in a devastating shooting that police have deemed a murder-suicide.

On Dec. 11, around 10:03 a.m., Las Vegas law enforcement responded to an apartment on Oso Blanca Road, discovering five individuals wounded from gunshots.

Sadly, two adults and two children were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third child was rushed to UMC Trauma. Details about the child's condition remain unclear.

Police reports confirm that a man shot a woman, three juveniles, and then himself. The victims were identified as Schinara Patterson, 34, Ki'Ziah Cone, 14, Zi'Myra Patterson, 6, and Marvin Ray Patterson, 42, according to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner.

Marvin Ray Patterson’s death was ruled a suicide by contact gunshot wound to the head. Schinara and Ki'Ziah suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head, while Zi’Myra sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.

Court documents mentioned a marriage license issued to Schinara and Marvin Ray Patterson in 2019. A fundraiser has been initiated on GoFundMe to assist with funeral costs for the victims, with Schinara’s sister, Micheala Bernoudy, identifying the children as Schinara’s.

Notably, Patterson faced charges including lewdness and sexual assault involving minors, according to court records cited by 8NewsNow. The alleged incidents occurred between 2013 and 2022.

Bernoudy recalled Schinara as an altruistic person and described Zi’Myra as sweet-natured while highlighting Ki’Ziah’s love for drawing.
