24-Year-Old Man, Andrei "Nico" Gianan Fatally Shot on New Year's Day, Police Searching for Suspects

Authorities are currently on the lookout for individuals involved in the tragic shooting incident resulting in the death of 24-year-old Andrei "Nico" Gianan. On the night of New Year's Eve, Gianan concluded his work in San Pedro and headed to Manhattan Beach. Unfortunately, he was fatally struck in the head around 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, specifically on the 1400 block of 11th Street, as reported by Fox 11. Contrary to the belief of the Manhattan Beach Police Department, this incident is not considered a random attack.

The family, devastated by this senseless act of violence, is seeking answers. A statement on his GoFundMe page describes the incident as a tragic twist of fate, emphasizing that Nico was in the wrong place at the wrong time, leaving an unimaginable pain behind.

In a recent update, the family revealed that Gianan, in a final act of generosity, was an organ donor. His heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and pancreas will be donated, ensuring that Nico's light lives on through the lives he will save.

Gianan's siblings, Karl and Nina, are determined to pursue justice for their brother. Described as someone with an infectious smile, a goofy personality, and a big heart, Nico was known for being thoughtful, caring, and easygoing. His family reminisces about his ability to bring joy to any room, his daring yet cautious nature, and his selflessness.

The GoFundMe campaign, initiated to cover funeral costs and related expenses, has garnered nearly $19,000, inching closer to the $20,000 goal.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has taken charge of the investigation and encourages anyone with information to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
