Woman Arrested for Alleged Unprovoked Shooting Spree

A young woman, Jaysie Parker-Jones, was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff's Office after allegedly shooting her father without cause. Court records, reviewed by Law&Crime, reveal the incident occurred while she was seated in her father's vehicle, firing multiple times at him, resulting in injuries to his neck and mouth. The episode, witnessed by her younger brother, led to additional charges related to discharging a firearm.

Parker-Jones, 23 years old, had earlier been connected to a prior murder case in November, where a 43-year-old man named Kenneth Johnson was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in a Houston parking lot. Ballistics tests confirmed the same firearm used in the recent assault on her father was linked to Johnson's murder. The motive behind the November incident remains undisclosed.

Family members of the deceased expressed shock, mentioning no familiarity with Parker-Jones and unable to comprehend why she might have allegedly taken their loved one's life. Described as someone passionate about photography and devoted to his dogs, Johnson's brothers painted a picture of a man seemingly unconnected to the accused.

Currently, Parker-Jones faces severe charges, including murder, and is detained at the Harris County Jail on a bond of $350,000. Her upcoming court appearance is scheduled for March 12.
