A Cleveland mom, Kristel Candelario, admitted guilt on Thursday to leaving her young daughter alone for 10 days while she went on a trip. This tragic decision, made last summer, led to the death of 16-month-old Jailyn Candelario.
Instead of caring for her child, Candelario left her home alone in June 2023 and traveled to Detroit and Puerto Rico.
When she finally returned ten days later, she found Jailyn unresponsive and called for help. Sadly, it was too late.
The investigation revealed Jailyn suffered from severe dehydration and was found in unsanitary conditions.
This evidence, along with Candelario's actions, convinced a judge to find her guilty of aggravated murder and child endangerment.
Candelario faces a potential life sentence, and her case has shaken the community.
