Married Man Christopher Astin Motry Allegedly Murders Girlfriend in Flint, Michigan


Christina Elizabeth Barber, a 48-year-old resident of Flint, Michigan has been allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, Christopher Astin Motry (34).

He has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder, domestic violence, evidence tampering, and concealing a death.

On March 4th, 2024, authorities recovered Ms. Barber's body near the Flint River after a fisherman reported a suspicious bag. 

A welfare check had been requested by a co-worker two days prior due to Ms. Barber's uncharacteristic absence from work and lack of response to calls.

The investigation led officers to a motel room rented by Ms. Barber. 

Here, they discovered a disturbing scene: a blood-soaked comforter outside the room, a bloodstained mattress with cat litter scattered around it inside, and additional bloodstains on the floor, walls, and bedsheets.

Motel security footage provided crucial evidence.

The footage captured Ms. Barber and Mr. Motry entering the room together on February 28th, 2024. 

Disturbingly, the footage then shows Mr. Motry exiting the room alone the following evening, carrying what appeared to be a body in a plastic bag. 

Ms. Barber is not seen leaving the room afterward.

Based on this evidence and witness testimonies alleging a tumultuous relationship and threats made by Mr. Motry, he was arrested and charged with the crimes mentioned above. 

He is currently held without bond and has been assigned a public defender.

Ms. Barber was unmarried and left behind seven adult children.
