Seattle Woman, Rickesha Overton, Arrested for Cold-Blooded Murder of Friend. She Initially Claimed Self-defence

A terrible tragedy unfolded in Seattle, Washington. A 33-year-old woman named Rickesha Overton is accused of murdering her friend, Alisia DeCoteau, in a cold-blooded attack.

Early Sunday morning, police rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire. They found Alisia, in her 20s or 30s, lying in an alleyway with multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, despite medical help, Alisia couldn't be saved.

Investigators quickly identified Rickesha as the suspect and caught her running away from the scene. They found a handgun on her, but the magazine was empty.

Security footage revealed the horrifying details of what happened. The video allegedly shows Rickesha forcing Alisia at gunpoint down the stairs of an apartment building and out to the back alley. Rickesha then throws Alisia to the ground and even goes back inside for a moment.

But here's the worst part: the video shows Rickesha coming back outside, standing over Alisia, and taunting her. She basically dares Alisia to doubt that she'll shoot. Then, Rickesha shoots Alisia several times, with the final shot fired directly into the back of her head.

Witnesses reported hearing Rickesha yell threats at Alisia just before the shooting, saying things like "I'll blow your mouth out!"  Even after Alisia was clearly dead, Rickesha kept pulling the trigger (though the gun was empty) and kicked her friend several times.

When the police first talked to Rickesha, she claimed she shot Alisia in self-defense. But her story kept changing. Later, she denied Alisia was even dead, and then said she didn't care if she went to jail, just as long as she could go to Alisia's funeral.

While authorities haven't said exactly how Rickesha and Alisia knew each other, it seems they were friends on social media. This whole situation is even more heartbreaking because Alisia leaves behind a young baby who will now be raised by her older sister.
