New South Wales Police have released a photo of a car as part of their ongoing investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a woman 30 years ago.

The woman, Pauline Sowry, also known by her married name Pauline Lawrence, was last seen by her family in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, south of Sydney, in December 1993.

Despite extensive police efforts, her whereabouts remain unknown.

A Coronial inquest in 2008 concluded that Pauline had likely died, following an unconfirmed sighting in 1994.

To further investigate her case, Police established Strike Force Anthea in 2022, and in March this year,

NSW authorities announced a $500,000 reward for information.

Recently, a breakthrough occurred when officers received a tip about Pauline being seen south of Wollongong in a car similar to the one in the newly released image below.

The vehicle in question is a white 1968-model Holden HK Kingswood sedan, described as being in "pristine" condition.

In March, Pauline's son, Jason Lawrence, made a heartfelt plea for information regarding his mother’s disappearance.

He expressed the deep void her absence has left in their lives, noting that she has missed the births of her five grandchildren and his niece.

"There are many happy memories she has missed in the last 30 years. We want to bring her home, or at least know what happened to her," Jason said.

"My family and I plead with the public to come forward if you have any information. Please give our family the answers we desperately need."

Anyone who recognizes the car, or knows someone who owned a vehicle matching this description at the time of Pauline’s disappearance, is urged to contact Wollongong police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
