Chanell Crosby, a 35-year-old mother who had been missing in Atlanta, was sadly discovered dead.
Her body was found inside a car at a commuter rail parking lot.
The vehicle, which had been abandoned, was reported to be emitting an unpleasant smell.
This grim discovery came just days after her family reported her missing.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, Chanell Crosby was last seen planning a visit to Macon.
Her family reported her missing on July 14 after she was unreachable.
Five days later, authorities were notified of an unpleasant odor coming from a vehicle parked outside a Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) station.
Upon investigation, they found Crosby's lifeless body inside the car.
The search for answers is ongoing.
Police are asking the public to provide any information that might help clarify the circumstances of Crosby's death.
Her family, who described her as a dedicated mother to three children, is heartbroken by her loss.
Channell Crosby's tragic death follows a series of personal tragedies
In 2022, her 13-year-old son, Jamiren Crosby, was found dead behind a townhouse.
The same year, her brother, Darrio "Polo" Giles, was also a victim of gun violence.
Neither of these cases has led to arrests.
In response to these tragedies, Channell Crosby had established the Crosby Organization.
Through this initiative, she sought to tackle issues such as gun violence and police brutality by promoting community engagement.
Her efforts included painting shelters and making donations to various causes, including children’s and women’s shelters.
As of now, the Atlanta Police Department has not released any new details regarding the investigation into Crosby's death.
The case remains open, and authorities are continuing their work to uncover what happened.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
