Florida Man, Robert Head, Allegedly Sets Wife on Fire Over Air Conditioning Dispute

What began as a minor argument about the air conditioner ended in a heartbreaking tragedy in Florida.

Robert Head, 58, allegedly used a cooking pot to pour gasoline on his wife and then set her on fire at their home.

This sadly led to her tragic death

On Thursday evening, shortly before 8 p.m., Williston Fire Rescue responded to a distress call about a house fire.

When they arrived, they found the home completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were also told that a woman was trapped inside.

Despite their courageous efforts to save her, they found the woman dead.

Authorities were soon informed that Robert Head was the prime suspect in this horrifying incident.

When law enforcement arrived, they found Head hiding in a dog kennel, armed with a machete and threatening to harm himself.

He was promptly taken into custody.

The victim's daughter, who was present during the attack, reported that Head had set her mother on fire following a heated argument.

She described their relationship as troubled, highlighting frequent arguments, especially about the temperature in the house.

The daughter recalled that on the day of the incident, she came home to find the air conditioning set low, making the house unbearably hot.

She and her mother had frequently clashed with Head over the air conditioning.

A verbal argument started, with Head allegedly using derogatory language towards his wife, who in turn called him names.

According to the affidavit, Head then went outside, filled a pot with gasoline, and poured it over his wife’s body and feet.

Witnesses reported that Head then lit a piece of paper and threw it onto his wife, resulting in a violent explosion.

The daughter, who was also burned, managed to escape the house.

After his arrest, Head allegedly confessed to setting his wife on fire.

He said his anger was driven by his wife's support of their daughter, who had recently moved in with them.

After their argument about the air conditioning, Head admitted to going outside, filling a pot with gasoline, and then coming back to set his wife on fire.

Head also revealed his intention to take his own life before the authorities arrived.

In his confession, he expressed a sense of guilt, stating that he believed he deserved to die for his actions.

The victim was remembered by her nephew Jamell Bradshaw as a compassionate and generous individual.

Bradshaw described her as someone who rarely refused help to others and was always supportive.

The victim’s daughter is now recovering from both her physical injuries and the emotional trauma of losing her mother.

Robert Head is currently being held at the Levy County Jail without bond, awaiting further legal proceedings.
