On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, South allegedly called 911.
He claimed that one of his half-brothers had slit his own throat, based on information from charging documents.
According to the documents, the dispatcher reported that the line went silent before the sound of a struggle could be heard.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two young adult males who had been killed, according to the sheriff's office.
A warrant was then issued for South’s arrest.
The charging documents allege that South had admitted to family members that he killed the boys, as reported by news outlets.
Although the sheriff’s office confirmed that South was related to the victims, the identities of the deceased have not been officially released.
The documents indicate that South was the half-brother of both victims.
South was arrested by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Body camera footage viewed by PEOPLE shows a brief standoff before deputies forcibly removed him from his vehicle and restrained him on the ground.
During an interview with Kitsap County detectives, South allegedly assaulted a detective while being re-handcuffed.
This caused injury to the officer and damage to the interview room, according to a Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
This incident resulted in an additional assault charge.
Police reportedly found blood inside South's vehicle, according to the charging documents.
At this time, it is unclear whether South has entered a plea or secured legal representation.
In a separate incident, a woman was shot and killed after repeatedly slashing an officer with a knife.
