Bruce Pierce: Mother Shoots Convicted Child Molester in Hotel Room Who Allegedly Tried To Rape Her Daughter

In Indianapolis, a mother took drastic action to protect her 12-year-old daughter, after walking in on a registered sex offender who allegedly tried to rape the girl in a hotel room.

The suspect, Bruce Pierce, who authorities described as a violent predator, was shot multiple times during the confrontation.

He now faces serious charges, including attempted rape and child molesting, as reported by PEOPLE

According to police reports, the incident occurred at the Baymont Inn on Eagle View Drive on May 24, 2025.

The victim, her sister, and their grandmother, became worried when the children's mother didn’t return home.

So they all went out to search for her, and eventually found her with Bruce Pierce in the lobby of the hotel.

According to Fox 59 News, Bruce Pierce then led the mother and her daughters into his hotel room.

After a while, the victim’s mother and sister went outside to load some items into the car.

The 12-year-old girl remained in the hotel room with Pierce because she wasn’t feeling well.

But as the mother returned to the room, she reportedly heard her daughter screaming, “No, no, no!”

According to Court documents, Pierce had pinned the girl down, ripped her tank top and underwear, and was allegedly trying to rape her at gun point, when the mother rushed into the room.

The mother, who had her own gun, opened fire and shot Pierce multiple times, before grabbing her daughter and running away from the hotel.

She quickly called 911 and returned to the scene, when officers had already arrived.

Pierce was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition after the shooting but was later discharged.

However, after his release from the hospital, Pierce mysteriously vanished, and authorities currently have no idea where he is, as reported by KOMO News.

Bruce Pierce

According to court records, Bruce Pierce was convicted twice in 2016 for child molesting and served an eight-year prison sentence.

He was also classified as a sexually violent predator, requiring him to register as a sex offender since 2019.

Despite his past convictions, Pierce didn’t change or turn over a new leaf.

According to WTHR News, the victim’s grandmother later told detectives that Pierce had been talking to the 12-year-old online, and wanted her to run away with him.

Also, authorities did not specifically explain the kind of relationship Pierce and the victim’s mother had.

Bruce Pierce is now facing new charges from this recent alleged attack, including:

- Attempted rape (Level 1 felony)
- Attempted child molesting (Level 1 felony)
- Unlawful possession of a firearm (Level 4 felony)
- Confinement of a minor (Level 5 felony)

A warrant has been issued for his arrest, though his current whereabouts remain unclear.

The 12-year-old victim was reportedly taken to Riley Hospital for Children for evaluation after reportedly being struck by Pierce’s gun during the struggle.

Because of the serious charges, Pierce could face a very long prison sentence if caught.

While the local police keep searching for him, the victim and their family hope he is found and brought to justice to prevent him from hurting anyone else.
