A registered nursing assistant in Georgia has been arrested for allegedly engaging in inappropriate sexual relationships with two of her patients. Jessica Camp, 39, faces charges of improper conduct by an employee in the first and second degree.
The alleged incidents occurred at the PruittHealth nursing home in LaFayette, Georgia. According to an arrest report, Camp allegedly performed oral sex on two male patients, both of whom are disabled.
One of the victims, a quadriplegic man, told police that he had been giving Camp money since August. He said that she had tricked him into believing they were in a relationship and that he needed to give her money for rent. He claims to have given her a total of $788.
The other victim, a double-leg amputee, told police that Camp had asked him for $750 for a car payment. He said that she had acted like nothing ever happened after he gave her the money.
Camp was arrested and booked into the Walker County Jail. She has since been released on bond.
PruittHealth has released a statement saying that they are "deeply concerned and saddened" by the allegations against Camp. They also state that they are committed to the care and safety of their patients and that Camp was immediately suspended and terminated after they learned of the allegations.
This case is a reminder of the importance of reporting inappropriate behavior to the authorities. If you believe that you or someone you know has been the victim of a crime, please contact your local police department.
