After Jamie’s mother left his biological father, she entered a relationship with another man named Jeff.

Thankfully, Jamie was still strapped to his car seat when Jeff threw him out.

Jamie Osuna’s Early Crimes
By the time Jamie Osuna was 15, he had already committed his first serious crime.
In a fit of rage, Jamie stabbed a boy at his school, and this act landed him in prison for four years.

Jamie Osuna’s First Murder
On November 13, 2011, Jamie Osuna committed his first known murder, as reported by KGET News.
The victim was Yvette Pena, a 38-year-old mother of six, who was found dead in a motel room in Bakersfield, California.
Shortly after the murder, Jamie called his wife and admitted to killing Yvette Pena.
He told her to turn on the news, making it clear he wasn’t joking.
His wife, knowing Jamie’s violent tendencies, immediately contacted the local police department.
When the detectives arrived at the motel, they found the victim's lifeless body in one of the rooms.
An investigation of the crime scene soon revealed that Yvette Pena’s body had multiple gruesome injuries.
The coroner’s report later confirmed that Pena died from a combination of blunt force trauma, sharp-force injuries, and asphyxiation.
Authorities quickly identified Jamie as a suspect, and five days after the murder, he was arrested.
During the criminal investigation, it became clear that Jamie did not know Yvette Pena before that night.
She was a complete stranger to him, which made the crime even more unsettling and difficult to understand.
Jamie’s trial for the murder began in 2017.
He pleaded guilty to the murder and also confessed to the crime during an interview with a journalist.

Jamie Osuna Kills His Cellmate
On March 19, 2019, Jamie Osuna committed another horrifying act of violence, this time within the walls of Corcoran State Prison.
His victim was Luis Romero, a 44-year-old inmate who had been serving a 27-year sentence for second-degree murder.
Romero was just months away from being eligible for parole when he was placed in the same cell as Jamie.
The two men were cellmates for less than 24 hours before the attack occurred.
The scene was gruesome and very disturbing.
Romero had been decapitated, and parts of his body, including an eye, a finger, and a section of his lung, had been removed.
Jamie had used a makeshift weapon, believed to be a razor blade wrapped in string, to carry out the brutal killing.
Additionally, Jamie wore Romero’s body parts as a necklace and carved a “Joker”-like smile into his own face using the same razor.
The words “Hahaha” and “the man with a thousand faces” were written with blood on the cell walls, adding to the macabre scene.
The murder raised serious questions about prison safety and oversight because Romero’s body was discovered three days after his death.
A subsequent investigation revealed that some prison staff lied, claiming they had seen Romero alive during routine checks when he was already dead.
Jamie was charged with Romero’s murder, along with counts of torture and mayhem.
However, in March 2021, he was deemed incompetent to stand trial due to severe mental health issues, including schizophrenia and antisocial personality disorder.
