Jason Kendall, 35, turned himself in after allegedly confessing to the strangulation and sexual assault of Larissa Garcia, 30, a sex worker at the Palms Casino Resort.
Garcia, also known as "Andrea" and "Dallas" in online ads, tragically passed away on June 21, more than a week after the June 12 incident.
Kendall faces serious charges including open murder, sexual assault, and battery by strangulation to commit sexual assault.
He initially called police claiming Garcia had overdosed, but medical findings at the hospital revealed no drugs or alcohol in her system, raising suspicions of foul play.
Video evidence from the Palms showed Kendall meeting Garcia in the lobby and leaving alone about an hour later, with no one else entering or leaving until security arrived.
Messages and web history indicated Kendall's connection to Garcia's escort ads.
On June 18, medical examinations confirmed Garcia had been strangled and possibly suffocated.
Kendall later admitted to police that he had paid Garcia for sex but claimed he "snapped" when she demanded more money, leading to the assault.
He reported the incident to police after leaving the hotel.
Kendall, an Army veteran, surrendered at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Headquarters and remains in custody without bail pending his next court appearance.
