On Saturday, June 7, her mother, Cherilynne Gratton-Camis, took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking update that Jax had been found, but had sadly passed away.
In her emotional post, Gratton-Camis described Jax Gratton as a radiant force—someone who lived "unapologetically, fiercely, and fully."
“There are no words strong enough for the grief we are feeling. The light she carried, the love she gave so freely, and the joy she brought into our lives have been taken from this world far too soon.”

According to New York Post, The Denver-based hairstylist was last seen on the night of April 15, leaving her apartment around 10 p.m.
She told her roommate she’d only be gone for about three hours, but when she didn’t come back, her family became concerned.
By the time they filed a missing persons report, her mother confessed that she was "terrified" and feared the worst.
Gratton-Camis expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support from friends, strangers, and advocates who helped spread the word about Jax Gratton’s disappearance.
“I want to thank everyone—near and far—who has shown up for us. Everyone who shared her story. Everyone who shared her face. Everyone who sent out a prayer, a hope, a kind thought.”
She also shared how her daughter’s identity as a trans woman gave her a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community.
“It’s not just about Jax—it’s about all of you in the LGBTQIA+ community who face the world every day with courage, just wanting to live, love, and exist safely and equally. That should never be a fight. And yet it is.”
The Lakewood Police Department (LPD) confirmed that a body was found on Friday, June 6, 2025, though the coroner has not yet released an official identification.
Gratton-Camis had earlier expressed fears for Jax Gratton’s safety.
She told PEOPLE News in April that she was concerned foul play might be involved, especially given her daughter’s history with abusive relationships.
As the community grieves, many are remembering Jax Gratton for her vibrant spirit and the love she shared with those around her.
“Jax Gratton was a light—I know that. She lit up so many lives just by being herself," said her mother.
Our hearts go out to Jax Gratton’s family and friends during this unimaginable time.
