In Oklahoma, authorities say an 11-year-old girl gave birth inside her family’s home without any medical professionals present.
Her mother, Cherie Walker, and stepfather, Dustin Walker, have now been arrested and charged with felony child neglect.

This disturbing case came to light on August 18, 2025, when the girl was transported to the hospital after giving birth.
Prosecutors believe the family intentionally kept her out of school and away from doctors to hide her pregnancy.
Both Cherie and Dustin Walker were taken into custody this week and booked into the Muskogee County Jail.
According to Law&Crime, their bail was set at $100,000 each, with no bond.
Authorities say they are waiting for DNA results to identify the baby’s father, and that more charges could follow once the results are out.
Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson expressed how difficult this case is to process:
“I was horror-stricken to find out it’s an 11-year-old little girl who’s given birth. And that she had no medical care, and she had no one to be with her.”
Hutson also explained that this child had not been to a doctor in over a year and was kept home from school.
By doing this, the parents deliberately cut off all the usual channels where her pregnancy could have been noticed and reported.
Neighbors described the Walker home as being in terrible condition.
According to Cheryl Adkins, who lives nearby, the children were left in an environment with no running water for at least two years.
“They have no running water for the last two or three years,” Adkins told reporters.
“They have dogs in the house. They have cats in the house, six children,” she added.
She also said she had personally made multiple calls to police and local authorities, because she was worried about the welfare of the children.
Sadly, help did not come in time to prevent what she called a stolen childhood for the girl.
“This is getting to me. They robbed her of her childhood,” Adkins said.
Authorities have since removed the newborn baby and the girl’s five younger siblings from the Walker household.

While neighbors have painted a disturbing picture of the home, the victim’s grandmother, who identified herself only as Michelle, strongly defended her daughter and son-in-law.
“I just want people to know, we did not know this was happening. None of us,” Michelle said.
She believes her daughter and Dustin Walker have been unfairly portrayed as monsters.
“They’ve made my daughter and my son-in-law a monster. They are not. They love those children. They love them,” she said.
Michelle also disputed claims about the unsanitary conditions inside the house, blaming the mess on the pets:
“We have animals, and so sometimes there’s trash on the floor because the dogs get into the trash. It gets cleaned up. Right now, it’s probably a mess because the animals are in there. We try to let them out, but they try to keep it clean.”
The biggest unanswered question at the moment is the identity of the baby’s father.
Michelle claimed that her granddaughter has repeatedly told them that the father is a 12-year-old boy Michelle once babysat.
“She keeps telling us that it was a little 12-year-old that I used to babysit,” Michelle explained. “They got curious. That’s all I know.”
Prosecutors have not confirmed this and say they are awaiting the results of a DNA paternity test, which could take about two weeks.
Assistant DA Hutson described the case as both tragic and infuriating.
She also noted that the young girl looked “rather petite,” but the newborn baby was a normal size.
“This child is traumatized,” Hutson told KOTV. “She’s been through a horrific ordeal. Not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance, and this will be her life for the rest of her life"
At this time, both parents are at the Muskogee County Jail and prosecutors say they are committed to seeking justice for the young girl.
