23-year-old Shiateek De-Shean Wilson has been charged with the murder of 35-year-old Noel Denzel Miller in Converse, Texas.
Authorities alleged that Wilson ambushed the victim inside his ex-girlfriend's home on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a house in the 7300 block of Roveen Trail shortly after 2 a.m. following reports of gunfire.
When officers entered, they found Miller lying in an upstairs bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
When the woman who lived in the home was interviewed, she told deputies that she and Miller had just returned from a night out when the tragedy unfolded.
She said they were about to have a shower together after they got home.
However, before they stepped into the bathroom, Miller left to get some clothes from the laundry room, and tragically, moments later, she heard gunshots.
She said she then ran out of the bathroom and noticed that her son’s bedroom door was open.
Inside, she found Miller bleeding and gasping for air, as reported by Express News.
As she tried to help him, she looked up and saw her ex-boyfriend — Wilson — standing in the doorway holding a black handgun.
According to the woman, Wilson then said something about “playing games with him” before taking her phone and walking downstairs.
When she pleaded for the phone back to call 911, Wilson eventually threw it upstairs, warning her “not to tell on him,” before he then fled the house on foot.
Around 9 a.m. the same morning, deputies tracked Wilson to a home on Chestnut Manor, where he was taken into custody without incident
When he was questioned by investigators, Wilson claimed the shooting wasn’t intentional.
He said he had planned to “surprise” his ex-girlfriend with flowers, money, and cocaine, and that was why he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home.
He told deputies he had asked his uncle to drop him off at the woman’s house around 1 a.m. on Sunday. But when he found out that she wasn’t home, he went inside and hid in an upstairs closet.
While waiting, Wilson said he drank an alcoholic beverage and watched videos on his phone until he fell asleep. He later woke up when his ex returned home, but this time, she was with another man, later identified as Noel Miller.
Wilson told investigators he decided to sneak out quietly after seeing her new boyfriend, but before he could leave, Miller spotted him.
Wilson claimed that Miller then pointed a gun at him first, and that he only shot back in self-defense.
“(Wilson) stated that he only fired his weapon at (Miller) because (Miller) had pointed a gun at him,” the affidavit reads.
Despite Wilson’s claim that Miller had a gun, investigators said they did not find any firearm belonging to the victim at the scene.
Wilson also admitted to taking the woman’s phone during the chaos but said he returned it after she begged for it back.
He told investigators he panicked and ran, tossing away his gun, phone, headphones, and the flowers he’d brought.
After his arrest, Wilson was charged with murder and booked into the Bexar County Jail, where his bail was set at $300,000.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to gather evidence and witness statements.
