The Disturbing Case of Cynthia Perkins: Louisiana Teacher Sentenced for Serving Her Students Cupcakes Laced With Semen



Cynthia Perkins, a former Louisiana teacher, shocked the nation with crimes that left a community reeling and several parents horrified. 

This ex-teacher and her husband, Dennis Perkins, engaged in unspeakable acts involving students and minors.

According to the New York Post, Cynthia Perkins served her students cupcakes which were laced with her husband’s sperm. 

After a lengthy criminal investigation, Cynthia was eventually sentenced to 41 years in prison without parole.

Who is Cynthia Perkins?

Cynthia Perkins was an English teacher at Westside Junior High School in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. 

By all outward appearances, she led a normal life with her husband, Dennis, a former sheriff's deputy. 

She was known as a respected educator—until her horrifying actions came to light in 2019, as reported by Ksat News 

What Crimes Did Cynthia Perkins and Her Husband Commit?

The crimes committed by Cynthia Perkins and her then-husband Dennis, were both unbelievable and stomach-turning. 

According to the criminal complaint filed, Cynthia Perkins served her student's cupcakes with her husband’s sperm.

Surprisingly, Cynthia filmed Dennis supplying semen for the cupcakes served to the innocent students, WTRF news reported 

A criminal investigation by the local police department uncovered a broader pattern of abuse beyond the laced cupcakes.

The investigation revealed that Cynthia Perkings helped Dennis in sexually assaulting a minor and filming explicit material. 

Together with her then-husband, Dennis, she engaged in sex crimes that led to over 150 criminal charges against the couple.

How Was Cynthia Perkins Caught?

The criminal actions of Cynthia and Dennis Perkins were exposed following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

In 2019, law enforcement officers in Louisiana raided the couple's home after receiving the tip.

Forensic crime scene analysis of the couple’s home uncovered over 2,600 photos and 300 videos of illegal content.

After the horrific discovery, the couple was immediately arrested and slammed with multiple criminal charges. 

During her interrogation with detectives, Cynthia Perkins tried to blame her husband for her crimes.

Cynthia even filed for divorce after her arrest, claiming her husband manipulated her into participating in the crimes. 

However, the overwhelming evidence from the criminal investigation contradicted her claims

The evidence revealed Cynthia Perkins’s active role in filming and assisting Dennis in his heinous acts. 



Justice For The Victims 

Cynthia Perkins faced 72 charges including second-degree rape, production of child pornography, and conspiracy of mingling harmful substances.

However, she accepted a plea agreement, and 69 charges were dropped. 

In February 2022, Cynthia Perkins pleaded guilty to the remaining three charges: second-degree rape, production of child pornography, and mingling harmful substances. 

As part of her plea deal, she agreed to testify against Dennis, who faced over 150 charges, many of them related to sex crimes.

“She took responsibility for her actions today,” said her attorney, Paul Scott, a top-rated attorney in Louisiana.

He emphasized that his client was innocent and that Dennis was the "real monster" 

The plea deal earned Cynthia Perkins a 41-year sentence and also spared the victims from the pain of a long trial.

The Louisiana Attorney General’s office stated, “The plea deal allowed victims to avoid reliving the horrors in court and ensures that justice is served.”

Dennis Perkins faced his own trial, with over 150 charges against him, including obstruction of justice and mingling harmful substances. 

Law enforcement officers noted that he tried to destroy evidence by throwing his phone into water, as per Ksat News.

In the end, he received a 100-year prison sentence without the possibility of parole, even though he denied any involvement in the crimes according to Law&Crime
