Rapper Mozzy and his entourage were taken into custody on Sunday following a shooting incident at his afterparty in Wichita.
During the event at City Nightz club, multiple assailants unleashed gunfire, leaving seven people injured and two others trampled as panic ensued.
Video footage captured the moment when Mozzy was instructed to exit a vehicle and subsequently detained by law enforcement. However, he has since been released without charges.
One member of his crew, on the other hand, remains detained in connection with the shooting.
Additional footage revealed the terrifying scene inside the club as the shooters opened fire, prompting terrified attendees to flee or seek cover.
Wichita Police Lt. Aaron Moses disclosed that four firearms have been recovered, and investigators are working to determine if they were the weapons used in the incident.
All the victims are currently receiving medical treatment, with one individual listed in critical condition. Among the gunshot victims are five men aged between 21 and 34, a 21-year-old woman, and a 24-year-old woman.
The two individuals trampled during the chaos were a 30-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man.
Detective Chris Merceau, speaking during a news conference, mentioned that the police had been called to the nightclub approximately twelve times this year due to various incidents, including aggravated battery and a drive-by shooting on May 21.
Following the previous incident, law enforcement had discussed security measures such as utilizing electronic wands to detect weapons on patrons and installing surveillance cameras.
Investigators will now assess whether these recommendations were implemented.
Authorities have cordoned off the club and its surrounding area for further examination of the crime scene.
