Two Men Arrested for Killing Brave Police Officer Who Responded To An Armed Robbery

On Sunday, two men got caught by the police for murdering a brave police officer, Constable Siyabonga Thango, who was responding to a robbery in Vosloorus, Gauteng, last Friday.

The officer was a part of a team trying to stop robbers from stealing at local stores in the area.

During the incident, there was a shootout between the police and the robbery suspects, and Constable Thango got wounded.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he didn't make it.

The national police commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, immediately ordered the police to find and arrest the killers.

Following some leads, the police located the suspects on Sunday morning in Vosloorus.

A shootout happened when the police confronted them, and the two men, aged 27 and 29, got arrested.

The police also found three guns during the arrest.

Unfortunately, one of the suspects, the 27-year-old man, later died from the injuries he got during the shootout.

General Masemola praised the team for making quick arrests in connection with Constable Thango's murder.

He emphasized that those responsible for attacking and killing police officers should face the harshest punishment because it's an attack on the country's authority.

He expressed his gratitude and respect for Constable Thango, acknowledging the bravery, loyalty, and sacrifices made by officers like him to protect the people of South Africa.

The officer had served for five years, and he will be remembered with honor.
