16-year-old girl stabbed to death in fight over sweet and sour sauce at McDonald's in Washington D.C.

A 16-year-old girl, Naima Liggon, was stabbed to death outside a McDonald's in Washington, D.C. during a fight over sweet and sour sauce.

The incident occurred when Liggon was attacked in a car outside the fast food restaurant by another 16-year-old girl from Waldorf, Maryland.

The accused assailant has not been identified because of her age.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The accused girl was arrested a block from the crime scene and pleaded not involved in a hearing on Monday.

She claimed self-defense, and the other girls started the fight, according to her defense attorney. But prosecutors said the fight had been over when Liggon was stabbed.

The fatal stabbing has raised concerns about youth violence in Washington D.C. The accused girl was held in juvenile hall with another court date set for Friday.
