Disturbing Case: UK Nurse, Lucy Letby Convicted of Killing Seven Babies And Attempting to Harm Six Other Babies

A British nurse has been found guilty of killing seven babies and attempting to harm six others at the hospital where she worked.

Lucy Letby, who was in her mid-20s and employed at the Countess of Chester Hospital during the time of these incidents, is now considered the most prolific child killer in modern UK history.

The court learned that Letby, now 33, inflicted harm on the babies under her care through methods such as injecting air into their blood and stomachs, overfeeding them with milk, physically assaulting them, and using insulin to poison them.

This horrifying ordeal took place in the neonatal ward at the Countess of Chester hospital between 2015 and 2016.

Her intention was to end the lives of these babies while making it seem like their deaths occurred naturally, leading her colleagues to believe there was no foul play.

Hospital doctors began noticing an alarming increase in the number of infant deaths and sudden collapses. When they couldn't find medical explanations, a police investigation was initiated.

In the years 2018 and 2019, Letby was twice arrested in connection with this investigation. She was arrested once again in November 2020.

During searches of her residence, authorities discovered notes Letby had written, confessing her actions.

In one memo, she wrote, "I don't deserve to live. I killed them on purpose because I'm not good enough to care for them."

In another, she admitted, "I am a horrible evil person," and emphatically stated, "I am evil I did this."

Pascale Jones from the CPS described Letby's actions as a complete betrayal of trust.

Families of the victims expressed that they might never truly comprehend the motives behind these acts. A joint statement from the families expressed that justice had been served, but the pain, anger, and distress they've endured won't go away.

Lucy Letby's sentencing is scheduled for August 21 at Manchester Crown Court.

In a separate incident, a Mexican cartel lured four students with a fake job interview, leading them to their hideout where they were subsequently killed, with the gruesome act captured on camera. See detailed story here
