Mahlaku Malebo Rabalao's Boyfriend Arrested in Connection with The IT Specialist's Murder

A colleague of Mahlaku Malebo Rabalao, the slain IT specialist, expressed utter shock after Rabalao's boyfriend, Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi, was arrested in connection with her murder.

"It's a surprise because we were with him when we were looking for Malebo, and I did not have any suspicions he would be a suspect in her murder," said the man who preferred not to disclose his name.

In March, Rabalao was killed, and her Mercedes-Benz was found in flames with her charred remains inside.

Initially, the authorities believed it was an accident, but after an intensive investigation, the case was reclassified as murder.

Rabalao's employer, an IT company in Centurion, stood by her family and even hired a private investigator when they suspected foul play.

The investigation eventually led to Mpisi's arrest.

Mpisi, a 30-year-old lawyer and Rabalao's boyfriend, appeared in court wearing a green army jacket and jeans. He remains in custody for further investigations and is set to return to court on August 7.

Rabalao's colleagues fondly remembered her brilliance and leadership at work. She was known for handling big projects and excelling in her field.

Mpisi and Rabalao share a three-year-old son, and shortly after her death, he posted heart-wrenching messages expressing his pain and gratitude for the support he received.

The community mourns the loss of Rabalao, who had also provided comfort to others in their times of grief.

Former EFF MP Godrich Gardee remembered her as a caring and supportive presence during his own difficult time.

As the investigation unfolds, the truth behind this tragic true crime story is yet to be fully revealed, and the hope for justice lingers in the hearts of those who knew and loved Mahlaku Malebo Rabalao.
