Three people in Georgia were arrested last week after two young children were found in a horrific state
The children, a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy, were found inside a home in Augusta, Georgia.
The home was in deplorable condition, with no running toilets, exposed live wires, and insect-infested food. There were also dangerous chemicals being stored right next to the baby formula.
The 3-year-old girl was found near death after ingesting a fatal amount of fentanyl.
She was taken to the hospital and treated with Narcan, a drug that reverses opioid overdoses. She is currently in critical condition.
The 1-year-old boy was found with burns on his back, arms, and hands. He was also drinking from a bottle filled with live maggots.
He was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
The children's parents, Matthew Moss and Talethea Browman, along with Aisha Bartley, all pictured above, were taken into custody and charged with a variety of felonies, including cruelty to children and drug possession.
Moss has a prior criminal record, including convictions for armed robbery and drug possession.
Browman has no prior criminal record. Bartley's relationship to the other two defendants is not yet known.
The other two children in the home, an 8-year-old girl and a 5-month-old boy, were also removed from the home and taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
