Man Shoots and Kills Woman Over LGBTQ Flag




A 66-year-old woman named Laura Ann Carleton was shot and killed by a man after she defended her Pride flags outside her clothing store in Cedar Glen, California.

The man, who has not been identified, made several disparaging remarks about the rainbow flags that were displayed outside Mag.Pi, the store that Carleton owned and operated. 

Carleton confronted the man, and he pulled out a gun and shot her.

The man ran away from the store after the shooting, but was later found and killed in a confrontation with officers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Carleton was pronounced dead at the scene. She was survived by her husband and nine children.

The LGBTQ group in nearby Lake Arrowhead said that Carleton didn't identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, but she was an advocate for everyone and was always willing to help others. 

She was known for putting up the Pride flags every year and for defending them from those who would try to tear them down.

The shooting has shocked and saddened the community, and there has been an outpouring of support for Carleton's family and friends. 


Many people have taken to social media to express their condolences and to share their memories of Carleton.
