Edian Villar: Doral High School Teacher Arrested After He Was Caught Allegedly Having Sex With a Student in Classroom

A Doral high school teacher is facing over 30 charges after another teacher walked in on him having sex with a 17-year-old student in his classroom, allegedly.

The shocking incident took place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at J.C. Bermudez Senior High School, leaving students and parents stunned.

According to the police reports, a fellow teacher entered Edian Villar’s classroom through a shared storage closet and discovered the 28-year-old science teacher with the teen, having sex.

The witness told police the pair appeared startled, and she saw Villar quickly pulling up his underwear before she left to report the incident.

The Miami-Dade Schools Police were called, and officers later interviewed the student at her home with her mother present.

The victim said their relationship began as a typical teacher-student relationship, but over time, it turned inappropriate as Villar started giving her special attention.

“The victim said the defendant was cool, not like the other teachers, and would allow her to be in his school clubs,” the report stated

She also admitted they usually had sex in his classroom multiple times a week.

Edian Villar was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, child abuse, offenses by an authority figure, and contributing to delinquency.

He appeared in bond court on Friday, May 2, wearing a safety vest, and was granted a $49,500 bond.

After his arrest, the school district swiftly removed Villar from his position, and alerted all the parents.

In a statement, Miami-Dade County Public Schools said:

“We are disturbed by these unsettling allegations. This behavior violates the conduct we expect from all employees. Termination proceedings have begun, and he will be barred from future employment with the district.”

Many students were shocked, especially those who knew Villar as a well-liked teacher.

“He was a very good teacher, so it was surprising to see his mugshot. He didn’t seem like the type to do something like this,” said student Daniel Vinciguerra.

Another student, Patricia Lopez, added:“He was one of my favorite teachers. I never saw this coming.”

Villar’s case is still developing, and the school has urged parents with concerns to contact administration.
