Remains of Murdered Woman, Samah Baker, Found After More Than Four Years After Her Murder

The remains of Samah Baker, a woman who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend James Hachem in January 2019, have been found after more than four years.

Hachem lured Baker out of her apartment by lying about his parents being in a car accident before murdering her somewhere in the vicinity of her Parramatta apartment complex in western Sydney.

He was sentenced to 24 years behind bars after being found guilty of her murder in May 2023.

Baker's family released a statement expressing their grief and the difficulty of not being able to have a funeral or lay her to rest.

A woman discovered her remains while walking in grassland off the Hume Highway near Goulburn in the NSW southern tablelands on July 28.

Police confirmed the remains belonged to Baker after detailed forensic examination.

The tragic story of Samah Baker and the cruelty she endured at the hands of her ex-boyfriend highlights the dangers of domestic violence.

Her family's grief and the pain they have endured since her death are heart-wrenching.

It is important to raise awareness about domestic violence and to support victims who are struggling to escape abusive relationships.
