60-Year-Old Man Busted with £50,000 Worth of Cocaine on M6

 



In an incident on July 4th, a 60-year-old man named Gary Boone, driving a Mazda on the M6 in Cheshire, got into serious trouble with the law. 

Police pulled him over and discovered a significant amount of cocaine worth over £50,000 hidden in a sack. Upon further inspection, they also found cannabis and more white powder alongside a mobile phone and cash.

During the traffic stop, it was evident to the officers that these drugs were meant for distribution. 

Boone, hailing from Bridgewater, Somerset, didn't deny his involvement and pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of class B drugs. 

His sentencing took place on September 21 at Chester Crown Court, where he was handed a four-year sentence.


A spokesperson from Cheshire Police highlighted the events leading to Boone's arrest. 

Merseyside Police initially alerted Cheshire Police about their suspicions regarding Boone's car. Later, Cheshire Roads and Crime officers spotted the same vehicle on the M6 near Knutsford, leading to Boone's arrest.

The substances confiscated were meticulously examined by forensic experts, confirming 500 grams of cocaine, valued at around £50,000. Additionally, the substance found in the sandwich bag was identified as cocaine, valued at £1,350.
