A Mother's Unimaginable Choice: Shaniya Davis Was Traded for a Debt of $200 (£150) By Her Mother, Leading to Her Tragic End

In a tragic and deeply disturbing incident, a five-year-old girl named Shaniya Davis fell victim to a horrific crime that unfolded as her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, made an unthinkable decision to settle a $200 (£150) debt with a man, resulting in unimaginable consequences.

Shaniya Davis went missing from her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on November 10, 2009, initially sparking suspicions around a man described as her mother's boyfriend.

However, this initial suspect was later ruled out when horrifying CCTV footage, released to the public six days later, showed a man carrying Shaniya through a hotel located 40 miles away from Fayetteville. This man was identified as Mario Andrette McNeill and quickly became the primary suspect.

On November 13, McNeill surrendered to the authorities and was charged with kidnapping.
However, he refused to assist in locating Shaniya.

Antoinette Nicole Davis initially claimed ignorance about Shaniya's whereabouts but later changed her story after being spotted on security footage near the hotel where McNeill was seen. She then provided a name, accusing her boyfriend, who was subsequently arrested.

However, Davis eventually confessed to fabricating this story and admitted to trading her daughter to settle her debt with McNeill.

The tragic events leading up to Shaniya's disappearance revealed a disturbing sequence of events.

On the evening of November 9, 2009, McNeill had been at home with his girlfriend and young child, consuming drugs and alcohol. He began texting women, including Brenda Davis, his ex-partner and the sister of Shaniya's mother.

When Brenda did not respond, McNeill made his way to the Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park, where he knew how to gain access to the mobile home when the door was locked. It was on this night that Antoinette Davis handed Shaniya over to McNeill as a means to settle her debt.

On November 14, 2009, Antoinette Davis was charged with human trafficking for the horrendous act of offering her own daughter for sexual exploitation. Despite initial hopes of finding Shaniya alive, days passed without success.

Tragically, Shaniya's lifeless body was discovered among deer carcasses near a rural North Carolina highway on November 17, 2009. An autopsy revealed that she had been suffocated and had sustained injuries consistent with sexual assault shortly before her death.

Mario Andrette McNeill was sentenced to death in May 2013 after being convicted of multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, human trafficking, sexual servitude, indecent liberties with a minor, and sexual offenses against a child.

Antoinette Nicole Davis, while pregnant at the time of her arrest, entered Alford pleas to various charges, maintaining her innocence. She is serving a sentence of at least 17 years and six months, with a projected release date in 2029.

In another news a 30-year-old man named Kurt Wallace pleaded guilty to a series of serious charges. These include four counts of stealing cars, two counts of firing a gun during car thefts, one count of using a gun during a car theft resulting in someone's death, and one count of escaping from jail.
