A doctor is facing accusations of engaging in sexual activity with multiple women, including a vulnerable colleague, within his consulting room, according to a tribunal.
The Sun has reported that Tom Plimmer, aged 40, stands accused of coercing one woman into weekly sexual encounters within his office in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK.
Furthermore, at least five others have alleged that the doctor invited them for sexual acts during their working hours, as stated during the Medical Practitioners Tribunal.
The tribunal also heard allegations that he sent unsolicited explicit images of his genitals, taken at his workplace, to one woman.
Additionally, it was claimed that he threatened another woman, stating that if she reported him to the GMC (General Medical Council), he would harm her. He purportedly fabricated stories about his family members being ill to evade one woman so he could meet another.
In May 2018, Plimmer allegedly showed a video of himself engaged in sexual activity with another woman to a colleague without prior notice. He then made advances towards her, even entering her room with his pants undone to flirt with her, according to Mark Monaghan, who presented the case on behalf of the General Medical Council.
The woman also alleged that she witnessed Plimmer engaging in sexual acts in his consulting room on multiple occasions.
Monaghan argued that Plimmer was aware of the colleague's vulnerability and had abused his position. He described an incident in which Plimmer comforted the distressed colleague by putting his arm around her and then led her into his consulting room, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately.
Plimmer acknowledges that he frequently sent explicit videos but asserts that all sexual activities were consensual.
The doctor met a second woman on a dating app and brought her to his consulting room on January 3. During this encounter, he offered her tea and engaged in sexual activity with her behind a locked door.
The woman expressed discomfort during the encounter, as she could hear people passing by outside, according to Mr. Monaghan.
In May 2018, Plimmer met a third woman and attended Wimbledon tennis with her. However, he later began providing excuses to avoid seeing her, including claiming that his mother had suffered several severe strokes.
Monaghan argued that these excuses were deliberate lies to facilitate his involvement with other women.
By May 2020, Plimmer had been living with a fourth woman, whom he had met in January 2019. Despite this, he engaged in sexual activity with another woman at his practice during working hours, as claimed.
Plimmer had also met a fifth woman on a dating site in 2021, who alleged that he sent her explicit photos taken at his workplace. Another woman claimed that he threatened to harm her.
The Tribunal hearing is ongoing.
