From Feigned Heart Attack to Drug Stash : Woman Hides an Avocado-Sized Bag of Illegal Drugs in Her Private Part, And Fakes A Heart Attack To Evade Capture

In a peculiar turn of events, a woman from Indiana ended up behind bars after she allegedly feigned a heart attack and attempted to hide a significant quantity of illegal drugs in her private part. 

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department revealed that the incident unfolded when Deputy Ryan Riggs, along with Deputy Aaron Crawford and Deputy Matt Wright, conducted a traffic stop involving 41-year-old Amanda Smith (pictured above) on Monday, September 4.

During the course of the investigation, the officers grew suspicious of potential drug involvement. K9 Copper, the police dog, was called in to search the vehicle, and the canine indicated the presence of narcotics.

According to court records scrutinized by FOX 59 Indianapolis, Smith resorted to pretending to have a heart attack and vehemently discouraged Richmond EMS from conducting electronic tests or assessing her medical condition.

Authorities decided to transport Smith to a local hospital, but even there, she continued to resist medical attention and refused to remove her clothing. 

Suspicion grew that Smith was attempting to conceal drugs while also plotting how to dispose of the evidence, as she insisted on going to the restroom unaccompanied.

During questioning, the 41-year-old suspect admitted to having a small amount of fentanyl concealed in her underwear. Court documents indicate that nurses subsequently discovered a plastic sandwich bag hidden in her private area. 

A body scan conducted at Wayne County Jail further corroborated the presence of an "abnormality in her pelvic area," as detailed in the court documents.

Despite these findings, Smith persisted in denying any wrongdoing. Eventually, she confessed to concealing drugs in her private areas and retrieved an "avocado-sized plastic sandwich bag," which contained a significant quantity of illegal substances. 

Items seized from the suspect

Police testing revealed the bag contained 38.9 grams of methamphetamine, 10.4 grams of crack cocaine, and 9.2 grams of fentanyl.

A search of Smith's vehicle uncovered even more illicit substances, including Gabapentin, Naloxone, and buprenorphine. 

Additionally, a notebook discovered in her car contained names, weights, dollar amounts, and types of drugs, further implicating her in drug-related activities.

Subsequently, Smith was arrested and now faces a slew of charges, including dealing methamphetamine (a Level 2 felony), dealing in a narcotic drug (a Level 2 felony), dealing in cocaine (a Level 3 felony), and dealing in a controlled substance (a Level 6 felony).
