Georgia Couple Files Second Lawsuit Against Doctor for Sharing Graphic Autopsy Images Of Their Baby On Instagram
A young couple from Georgia has initiated a second legal action against a doctor they claim shared distressing images of their baby, who tragically suffered a decapitation during childbirth.
Jessica Ross, a 20-year-old mother, and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr., a 21-year-old father (both pictured above), previously accused OB-GYN Tracey St. Julian of excessive force leading to their son's tragic fate during delivery at Southern Regional Medical Center in July.
Now, they are pursuing legal action against a second doctor, Dr. Jackson Gates, alleging that he posted graphic autopsy images on social media.
Family attorney Rod Edmond conveyed the couple's anguish, stating, 'After enduring such unimaginable hardship, Dr. Gates further exacerbated their suffering by sharing photos and videos of their deceased child on Instagram. This is deeply disturbing, and something is seriously amiss.'
The lawsuit alleges that Gates accepted $2,500 for conducting an autopsy on the infant and subsequently shared a full-face image along with videos of the baby's organs on Instagram.
In response, Dr. Gates defended his actions on his Instagram account, asserting that any content he shared on social media was intended for educational purposes.
Attorneys for the young couple assert that they feel betrayed and contend that Dr. Gates leveraged their tragedy for personal gain, seeking to bolster his own online following.
Attorney Cory Lynch remarked, 'Dr. Gates consciously neglected his responsibility to this young couple, exchanging it for Instagram likes and followers.'
In their previous lawsuit filed in July, the couple had accused Dr. Julian of employing excessive force during the baby's delivery, resulting in severe injuries.
The lawsuit alleged that the medical center failed to adequately inform the family about the tragic decapitation, and further claimed that the hospital discouraged them from pursuing an autopsy, instead suggesting cremation.
Both lawsuits are currently pending as the couple seeks justice for their heartbreaking ordeal.
