A woman in Los Angeles recently fell victim to a robbery, losing approximately $100,000 in the process.
This alarming incident occurred earlier this month in the upscale Hancock Park neighborhood, and it has raised concerns among local residents.
According to a report from the area, surveillance footage captured the sequence of events.
The footage shows the woman entering a gated underground parking garage beneath an exclusive condominium building. Following closely behind her is an unidentified man who conceals his identity with a hood.
Once the woman parks her car, the suspect brandishes a firearm, holding her at gunpoint while snatching her bag. He hastily makes his escape to a waiting black sedan, where a second accomplice is seated behind the wheel.
One resident in the area expressed their shock at the incident, stating, "Absolutely shocked. This looks like a really nice neighborhood. I live close by, I walk around a lot of times. It’s really sad to see."
The bag stolen from the victim contained a significant sum of cash and valuable jewelry, collectively estimated at around $100,000, according to the Los Angeles police.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this case, and the police are actively pursuing their investigation.
It is worth noting that the victim is the owner of a jewelry store located in Koreatown, which had been targeted in a separate robbery just days prior to this incident. In that earlier robbery, hundreds of thousands of dollars were stolen.
Hancock Park, an affluent neighborhood close to Paramount Studios, is renowned for its well-preserved architectural styles that harken back to the 1920s era of Los Angeles.
