Charged with Murder: Five Suspects in Las Vegas Home Invasion Case

Five individuals who had previously been arrested in connection with a home invasion that occurred in Las Vegas in January are now facing murder charges. The charges stem from an incident in which a man they allegedly assaulted with a pistol has sadly passed away from his injuries.

The accused individuals, namely Raven Queen, Antonio Washington, Denzale Lee, Howard Cavitt, and Lamonte Butler, have been charged with murder in the case of a victim who was 60 years or older, according to court records. This indictment marks the fourth superseding one in this ongoing case.

The incident took place on January 12, during which a 78-year-old man named Hong Shu Liu and his wife were attacked in their home, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Court documents obtained by various news sources, including KLAS and KSNV, reveal that Liu was tied up and assaulted with a pistol, while his wife was subjected to a distressing experience with her head forced underwater. Tragically, Liu passed away on September 17, as stated in his obituary.

According to prosecutors, Raven Queen is believed to have orchestrated a series of violent break-ins and home invasions, as detailed by the Review-Journal. She is facing a total of 22 charges, including murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping, as per court records.

It has been reported that there were up to 11 burglaries committed, as per KLAS. A total of eight individuals have been charged in connection with these incidents, but Queen, Washington, Lee, Cavitt, and Butler are the ones facing murder charges in connection with the January 11 incident.

KLAS has also reported that prosecutors allege Queen served as a lookout while the assault took place at Liu's residence.

An arraignment for the indictment was scheduled for Wednesday, and a calendar call is set for October 30. At this time, it remains uncertain if any of the suspects have secured legal representation to speak on their behalf.
