Chilling Murder Charges: Two Suspects, Jonathan Warren and Katelyn Goble, Indicted in 2016 Morgan Bauer Case

In a horrifying turn of events, the two individuals involved in the 2016 disappearance and tragic death of 19-year-old Morgan Bauer from Atlanta, Georgia, have been officially charged with murder. Shockingly, it is alleged that the victim was strangled to death, then subjected to further gruesome acts after her demise, including dismemberment, burning, and violation.

The arrest of Jonathan Warren, 33, and Katelyn Goble, 27, took place in California and Illinois, and these developments were announced in August, more than seven years after Morgan Bauer was last seen alive. She was leaving a nightclub in February 2016, only days after her relocation from South Dakota with just $20 to her name. Initially, Warren faced charges related to murder, aggravated assault, concealing a death, and tampering with evidence, while Goble was accused of concealing a death and tampering with evidence. However, the charges in their Newton County cases have now become significantly more severe, as the indictments reveal.

Warren and Goble now face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and concealing the death of another. Specifically, both defendants are accused of taking the life of Bauer by strangulation. The alleged aggravated assault (strangulation) forms the basis of the felony murder charge. Most notably, both suspects are accused of causing Bauer's death "with malice aforethought" through "strangulation and other undisclosed methods as determined by the Grand Jury."

Following the murder, Warren and Goble are alleged to have dismembered and burned the victim's remains, either to hide her death or to obstruct the discovery of any unlawful killing.

Additionally, Warren is accused of necrophilia.

Bauer's mother, Sherri Keenan, shared in a Facebook post that Jonathan Alexander Warren 'Alex' and Katelyn Goble are now both in Newton County, Georgia, and are being held without bond. She expressed her gratitude for their custody and the support of those who care about Morgan's well-deserved justice.

Keenan also thanked everyone who has supported and offered prayers for her daughter, conveying her deep appreciation for the love and concern shown by those who care about Morgan Bauer.
