Florida Man Arrested for Allegedly Holding Woman Captive after Meeting on Facebook Dating

In Florida, a 29-year-old man named Caleb Fast was arrested over the weekend for allegedly holding a woman captive whom he met on the "Facebook Dating" app. He reportedly kept her against her will in his home, subjecting her to days of physical abuse and sexual assault.

Caleb Fast was apprehended on Sunday and is now facing charges including kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery, aggravated assault, and sexual assault.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call around 4:53 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Pensacola, Florida. The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was in need of medical attention. She appeared visibly shaken and nervous, with a severe injury to her right eye, which was completely swollen shut.

During an interview with investigators, the victim revealed that she had met Fast through the Facebook Dating app, and they had been in a romantic relationship for about two weeks before the incident. She voluntarily visited Fast's home on Thursday, but when she attempted to leave on Friday, he prevented her from doing so. He brandished a handgun and threatened to kill her if she tried to escape.

The victim took Fast's threat seriously as he had previously assaulted her by punching her in the stomach, causing her to urinate blood.

While she was held against her will, Fast allegedly became enraged and repeatedly punched her in the face, resulting in the injury to her eye. He threatened to subject her to even more severe beatings if she tried to leave.

Eventually, Fast ordered her to undress, and she complied out of fear for her safety. Subsequently, he sexually assaulted her.

The victim managed to escape from Fast's home on Sunday when he became intoxicated and passed out after consuming a bottle of wine. She fled the house and sought refuge at St. John's Episcopal Church, where she contacted the authorities.

The victim stated that she had been held captive by Fast since Thursday. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Fast and took him into custody. He is currently held on a $167,000 bond and is scheduled for an arraignment before Judge Linda L. Nobles on November 9.
