London Tragedy: 15-Year-Old Arrested After Keelen Morris Wong is Stabbed to Death in Brixton, Investigation Underway
In a tragic incident that unfolded in front of horrified shoppers, a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the shocking death of a 22-year-old man in South London. The victim, identified as Keelen Morris Wong, was fatally stabbed on bustling Coldharbour Lane in Brixton shortly before 5 pm on Tuesday.
Law enforcement authorities have taken the 15-year-old into custody on suspicion of murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Police, along with the London Ambulance Service, responded to the scene, but unfortunately, Mr. Wong was pronounced dead on-site. His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Detective Inspector Kevin Martin is leading the investigation and emphasized that efforts to determine the motive behind the stabbing are ongoing.
He expressed, "This dreadful attack occurred during broad daylight, witnessed by individuals simply going about their daily routines. I cannot underestimate the impact of such a horrific incident on those who witnessed it. While we have already received statements from several witnesses, I urge anyone who saw the incident to come forward and share what they observed in confidence."
Martin further added, "An arrest has been made, and we are making significant progress, but we can never have too much information. Our pursuit of establishing a motive continues. Any piece of information, regardless of its size, can contribute to the investigation and aid in holding those responsible accountable."
The detective also acknowledged the existence of multiple videos circulating online, including footage of the crime scene. He appealed to the public to refrain from sharing this distressing content, as it is causing immense anguish to the victim's loved ones.
Additionally, a 23-year-old man, initially arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder and subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment, has been discharged and is now in police custody.
