Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Woman at Florida Campsite

A guy got busted after he supposedly slammed a lady's head into a tree stump just because she woke him up while heading to the bathroom. This all went down at the Silver Springs State Park campsite, as per the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The man in question, Eric Barr, found himself in handcuffs and facing charges of domestic aggravated battery after the whole incident went down on a Friday. Deputies who were doing their usual rounds in the area got called in for a verbal dispute and a potential physical altercation.

When one of the deputies arrived, they discovered a woman who was seriously shaken up, with blood on her hands, arms, and legs. She spilled the beans about an argument with Barr, mentioning they'd been drinking, and she accidentally woke him up.

She then pointed at the back of her head, which was dripping with wet blood. It was a gruesome sight, and the deputies called for emergency medical help right away. From a distance, the woman shouted at Barr, asking him how he could do such a thing.

After some hesitation, she came clean to the deputies, saying that Barr "hit me with a stump" and admitted he "bashed her head against a stump." There was no sugar-coating anymore.

The deputies spotted a log on the ground with blood next to it, right next to a bottle of booze.

Barr agreed to chat with the deputies once they read him his Miranda Rights. He mentioned that they had called it a night around 10 p.m. after having some drinks. But the woman woke up to use the bathroom, and that woke him up too. She accidentally messed up the zipper on the tent they were sleeping in, and things went south from there. The tent started falling apart, and that's when the woman got hurt.

He claimed he was inside the tent the whole time and denied any wrongdoing, saying there was no argument between them.

Barr's little adventure ended with him getting arrested and hauled off to the Marion County Jail.
