Man, Jordan Thomas Piper, Who is Currently Awaiting Trial For Torture and Murder of His 11-Year-Old Son, Has Been Handed A Lengthy Sentence For Another Shocking Crime

A father from California is now serving a lengthy prison sentence as a result of a federal child sexual exploitation case. Simultaneously, he is facing state charges related to the alleged murder and torture of his 11-year-old son.

Jordan Thomas Piper, a 38-year-old resident of Alliance, Ohio, admitted to the federal charges of making "surreptitious recordings" of a girl under 18. These charges were filed by federal prosecutors in June 2022.

The origins of this disturbing saga date back to October 2021 when both Jordan Piper and his wife, Lindsay Piper, were accused of the murder of their 11-year-old son, Roman Anthony Lopez. The tragic discovery of Roman's remains hidden in a storage bin in their Placerville, California residence in January 2020 marked the beginning of this harrowing case.

During the investigation into the child's death, officers from the Placerville Police Department seized various digital devices from the Piper household. These devices yielded deeply disturbing evidence of child sexual abuse materials that had been produced between October 2019 and January 2020 in the counties of Tuolumne and El Dorado.

Local investigators immediately alerted federal authorities, who launched a comprehensive examination of Jordan Piper's cellphone and a GoPro SPTM1 camera. This examination unearthed a multitude of compromising videos and images of the minor victim, who had been placed in profoundly distressing situations.

In March, Jordan Piper was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison for his child sexual exploitation charges. Following this, he is required to undergo seven-and-a-half years of supervised release, as stated by the U.S.

Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California. In addition to the creation and possession of child sexual abuse materials, Jordan Piper was found to have communicated with the minor girl through text messages, encouraging her to engage in sexual activities.

However, the resolution of Jordan Piper's fate in the murder case is still pending, as no trial date has been set for this complex and distressing case.

It's important to note that the legal proceedings extended to Jordan's wife, Lindsay Piper, as well. While both initially pleaded not guilty to the murder charges, Lindsay Piper changed her plea to no contest on one charge of second-degree murder in May. This change in plea led to her sentencing, which took place in July 2022. She was given a sentence of 15 years
