Michigan Man, Robert Wayne Lee a.k.a 'Boopac Shakur' Who Exposed Child Predators Online Fatally Shot and Killed

A man from Michigan, Robert Wayne Lee, known for exposing alleged child predators online to his thousands of social media followers, tragically lost his life when he confronted two teenagers late Friday night. 

The incident occurred after Lee posed as a 15-year-old girl online to lure and expose suspected pedophiles, as reported by the Oakland County sheriff's office.

Lee had a substantial following on Facebook, with over 11,000 followers, and on Instagram, with more than 45,000 followers. He documented his efforts, including confrontations with alleged predators, in videos shared with his audience.

The fatal encounter took place at a restaurant in Pontiac, where Lee confronted two teenagers, ages 17 and 18. He accused one of them of being a pedophile and engaged in a physical altercation, including punching the individual. 

In response, the teen who was punched produced a knife, while the other, suspected to be the 17-year-old, fired multiple shots at Lee with a pistol. Lee was subsequently transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The suspects fled the scene but were apprehended on Saturday afternoon, according to the police. The sheriff's office has not disclosed their identities.

While acknowledging that Lee's efforts had led to the arrest and charges against several individuals, the police cautioned that he had also mistakenly identified someone as a sexual predator. 

Sheriff Michael Bouchard emphasized the importance of understanding the standard of evidence required for convictions and the potential for violence when confronting suspected predators.

Detectives are preparing to forward the case to prosecutors for potential charges on Sunday or Monday. Additionally, at least one of Lee's efforts resulted in a former police officer facing charges, as confirmed by a police department spokesperson.

In another news, a YMCA kids' program coordinator and college student, Elijah Jacob Donato, aged 21, has been accused of sexually exploiting a child he was babysitting in Carolina Beach, North Carolina.
