Northern France School Receives Bomb Threat After Teacher's Tragic Stabbing

A school in northern France, where a teacher was fatally stabbed by an assailant who reportedly shouted 'Allahu Akbar,' was evacuated due to a bomb threat.

Around 10:30 am (9:30 am GMT) on Monday, October 16, dozens of teachers and students left the Gambetta Middle and High School in Arras after the police received a bomb threat via the school's website.

However, after a bomb disposal team, along with sniffer dogs, thoroughly checked the premises, no bomb was found. Consequently, hundreds of students and teachers were instructed to return to the school later in the day.

This bomb scare followed the tragic incident in which Dominique Bernard, a French language teacher, was allegedly stabbed to death by a 20-year-old Chechen refugee named Mohamed Mogouchkov.

Reportedly, Mogouchkov shouted 'Allahu Akbar' before carrying out the attack on the 57-year-old Bernard. This incident prompted French President Emmanuel Macron to advocate for a resolute stance against extremists in France.

Bernard's murder occurred on the same day when leaders of Hamas, the Palestinian group known for violent attacks in Israel, called on Muslims worldwide to demonstrate on a 'day of Jihad.'
