A Florida businessman, Bob Benyo, took unconventional measures to recover his wife's stolen rare Rolls-Royce, valued at $250,000, after the audacious daylight robbery from their garage.
In response to the September 21 incident, Bob orchestrated an aerial banner flying over Miami with the bold message "STOLEN PURPLE ROLLS-ROYCE REWARD..." followed by his contact information. His frustration over rising insurance rates fueled his decisive action.
The thieves had struck minutes after Bob's wife, Olga Benyo, and their children arrived home. Surveillance footage captured the perpetrators, believed to be involved in other high-end car thefts in the area, making off with the cherished Wraith along with other valuable vehicles.
The ensuing investigation led to a series of dramatic turns, including failed negotiations with the thieves and a tip-off from an anonymous caller leading to the eventual recovery of the vehicle in Fort Lauderdale. Though the car was unharmed, valuables worth more than $23,000 were missing.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Bob expressed gratitude for the anonymous caller, who refused the reward but received it as a token of appreciation. Two suspects have been reportedly arrested in connection with the theft.
Bob fondly recounted the significance of the Rolls-Royce to Olga, who was ecstatic upon its return. Despite their differing personas, Bob, a mechanic, and Olga, an etiquette coach, form a complementary partnership in their marriage.
