Missouri Fugitive, Jose Eduardo Dominguez-Garcia Arrested for The Alleged Murder of Pregnant Girlfriend
After a lengthy manhunt, Missouri authorities have apprehended a Wisconsin fugitive accused of murdering his pregnant girlfriend and concealing her body in a suitcase.
Jose Eduardo Dominguez-Garcia was apprehended in the Kansas City suburb of Gladstone. He is charged with the murder of Rosaly Cindy Chavarria Rodriguez, who vanished on July 2, 2020, while working at Sprecher's restaurant in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.
Gladstone police officers apprehended Dominguez-Garcia after their automated license plate readers detected a vehicle with a stolen plate traveling through the city. Officers discovered the vehicle, a red Ford Fusion, in a parking lot.
Upon questioning the driver, who was later identified as Dominguez-Garcia, police discovered that he had multiple IDs and was providing false names. He was then arrested and brought into custody.
Dominguez-Garcia was formally charged with murder by Chippewa County prosecutors in December 2021, but his whereabouts remained unknown until his recent arrest.
The victim's final paycheck from Sprecher's was collected by Dominguez-Garcia on July 23, 2020. According to authorities, he had been romantically involved with Rodriguez and had discovered her infidelity, leading to their breakup on July 4, 2020.
The child Rodriguez was carrying when she died was allegedly fathered by another man.
On August 26, 2020, police discovered Rodriguez's red 2003 Volkswagen Jetta in Wisconsin Dells. Investigators suspected that a recently deceased body had been stuffed into the trunk based on fluids found inside.
A tip from an informant in a drug case led authorities to a vacant farm in Wheaton, where they discovered Rodriguez's body concealed in a purple suitcase.
Rodriguez was determined to be seven weeks and five days pregnant during a doctor's appointment on June 18, 2020.
Surveillance footage captured Rodriguez's Jetta traveling along Highway T, where her body was eventually discovered, on July 23, 2020.
Despite the lack of identification on the remains, police suspected it was Rodriguez based on her Sprecher's T-shirt and long hair, which matched her missing person description.
