Popular British rapper Nines, whose real name is Courtney Freckleton, has been charged with drug offenses stemming from his arrest at Heathrow Airport last Wednesday. The 33-year-old musician is accused of involvement in the supply of cannabis and possession of the Class B drug.
Footage circulating online shows Nines, his hands cuffed behind his back, being escorted through the airport by police officers.
In addition to the drug-related charges, Freckleton faces three counts of breaching a serious crime prevention order. Allegedly, he failed to inform police of his home address and was found in possession of an unregistered second phone and laptop, according to court documents.
Freckleton, who resides in Bushey, Hertfordshire, appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court last Friday. A court official informed Sky News that the rapper did not enter any pleas and was granted conditional bail by District Judge Kathryn Verghis.
His next court appearance is scheduled for December 15 at Kingston Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed to Sky News: "Courtney Freckleton appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Friday 17 November charged with three counts of the breach of an existing serious crime prevention order, being concerned in the supply of a class B drug (cannabis) and possession of a class B drug (cannabis)."
"He was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday 15 November. He was bailed to appear at Kingston Crown Court on 15 December."
